METECH Phase II, Věrovany

The project was completed on a pitched roof with a PVC roofing membrane and EPS thermal insulation installed on trapezoidal aluminium sheeting. Due to the roof pitch, it was not possible to use a conventional ballasted mounting system. The project presented two technical challenges:

  • An older PVC roofing membrane may not always allow a completely watertight connection to be created. In this situation, we recommend using the SOLATECH DIM PVC-PM anchoring system – a stabilising element installed using an under-welding method.
  • Anchoring into trapezoidal aluminium sheeting is technically more demanding and requires a special aluminium fastener.

The customer used SOLATECH technical support. The following steps were carried out to ensure the successful completion of the project:

  • The supplier of the aluminium fasteners carried out a pull-out test to determine the load-bearing capacity of the substrate and establish the correct anchor lengths. The pull-out test report was used to prepare the structural calculation for the required number of SOLATECH DIM PVC-PM anchoring points.
  • A structural calculation was prepared to determine the required number of SOLATECH DIM PVC-PM anchoring points.
  • A qualified contractor was recommended for the installation of the DIM PVC-PM elements.
